Last week, our team came together for Accelagen’s annual Conference – usually a space and time dedicated to hearing from the various departments about the amazing outcomes we have achieved, new opportunities and pipeline activities and to reflect on the year that was… this year was a little different.

The 2023 Accelagen conference was themed ‘Accelerating Beyond’ – the idea that there is no limit to what we can achieve together. What started as a sole trader consultancy, grew into a small but mighty team in Plunkett Consulting, and finally to launched the Accelagen chapter – we’ve always known we wanted to create something that could have a meaningful impact on the future of human health, and contribute to our clients and partners achieving their own ambitions.

We couldn’t have imagined that today we would be a thriving team of 40+ talented experts, operating from all corners of Australia (and soon to be beyond), attracting clients at the forefront of groundbreaking research both locally and globally and growing year-on-year. In our thirteen years, we’ve learned there is no limit to what we can do together.

And so, the theme of a rocketship, to celebrate where we’ve been and to explore what else is possible for us, was truly fitting as the growth in our team, our talents and our passion provides each other, and our clients, a partner to achieve greatness for all.

Led by the formidable Executive Coach and Facilitator, Sarah Scotti, our team embarked on a two-day ‘launch’. We began by reflecting on the year that’s been, starting with the wins and triumphs of the patients we have the honour of supporting and collaborating with, the 60+ projects we’ve worked across with multiple clients, the Accelagen babies we’ve welcomed and the new talent that has joined our team. We spent time understanding who we are as individuals and how we come together to optimise our collaboration for the best results for our clients.

We brainstormed what felt like pipe dreams and then devised strategic plans to bring these ideas into reality, always focussing on our strategic pillars of Process, People, Partnerships and Growth. We’ve set our course over the next year to deliver on broader community impact, greater internal and external collaboration, and also how we continue to live and embody our values as a people-first and purpose-led organisation.

The team actively contributed to defining strategies and goals without limitation, building on our momentum to ensure we continue to provide the highest quality outcomes through all stages of product development. The Accelagen team openly challenged the norm, debated opportunities for executing projects with improved efficiency and focus, and strengthened our team dynamic to set us all up for success.

As I looked around the room, I felt immense pride and amazement at the people and talent on board our rocketship. The reason I started this business was to make a meaningful difference to the landscape of health and wellness, and I’ve always known the kind of talent and passion this mission requires – and that’s exactly the diversity of talent and perspectives we’re so proud to work with today.

We’ve set our course for beyond, and we have lift-off. Here’s to another year on the rocketship.
